- The problem with most drivers is:
- Too little loft - the average driver loft is 9.5-10.5 degrees. Extensive studies have proven that to get this type of loft to work you need to generate in the region of 100mph of club speed. The average club speed is between 75mph-85mph.
- Lower lofted drivers make it difficult to create the correct launch angle. To create a longer carry you need a higher launch angle of around 12-13 degrees.
- An incorrect shaft is fitted to the driver – the shaft is either too stiff, too whippy or too long.
